Suggestions for MSC

I sailed on the Lirica last month and had a few

suggestions to make the experience better.

First the shower curtain, whenever I took a shower,

it would billow with the movement of the ship, gets

wet and then sticks to your body like a glove.

Every time I took a shower, I kept thinking of

ways to prevent that, I think I found a solution..

Since the shower curtain is nylon, it's very thin

and moves very easily...it then attaches itself

to your body when gets wet. The solution would

be a thicker plastic shower curtain that would

less likely to move with the rocking motion

and I doubt that plastic sticks like nylon would.

this would probably be cheaper too.

I suggest the clear type since it's a little dim

in that shower.

Secondly, the tiny juice glasses at the buffet and

pizza/grill areas. I kept wondering if this was a

cost savings idea since people would drink less

and waste less with getting refills and leaving

half full tall glasses behind. I doubt MSC is

saving any money here since most people were

taking 3 or 4 glasses each and getting refills.

I think it's more time and money wasted in

washing more glasses and the labor involved

loading the dishwasher with more glasses people

had to use to get a full cup of iced tea or juice.

I suggest MSC start switching to larges glasses

as they replace the tiny juice ones.

This is all I can think of right now.

Did you mention these on the comment card at the end of the cruise?

We are going on the Lirica in a week and this time I plan on taking a travel mug for coffee in the morning and then can use again later for iced tea. I don't drink much juice so for me this was not a problem but hubby did usually get 2 glasses of juice. If I wanted more I would just go back for a second glass.

As for the shower curtain I have found this to be a problem on other lines as well.

Solution for shower curtain : worked on the Orchestra. I collected rocks on the beach in Nassau and used the duct tape these boards always tell me to bring and taped a row of rocks and shells along the bottom to provide enough weight that the curtain didn't stick anymore.

Solution for cups: bring your own insulated coffee mug. Not only does it keep coffee warm but it keeps juice or ice tea cold. Has a lid to prevent spilling.

weren't you on the same cruise Feb 12 to 22nd as me?

you are going on the Lirica again? I did bring my own

insulated mug, it worked well and people were jealous.

Totally agree with you re the shower curtain - it is very annoying. the Opera is exactly the same, I hoping that when I go on the fantasia next month, they will have something better - loke sliding doors or a screen.

the small glass thing hadn't even registered on my radar - probably because they are fairly "normal" in many pasrts of Europe. I suspect that may be part of the reason as well as a false sense of economy.

  • 4 weeks later...

Obviously this is a dilemma that a great inventor can make a lot of money, as all ships are the same except for one & sad to say I don`t remember which but it had a plastic door, it was great, possibly ncl spirit. Does anyone else remember?

I was annoyed by the same thing on the Orchestra this past week!! I was thinking like most shower curtains that they could put magnets in the bottom of the curtain. There was a metal water barrier at the bottom and it would stick perfectly.

I did not enjoy the curtain stuck in the bum when shaving!!;)
