Run don't Walk to B.B. King's Blues Club

The B.B. King's Blues Band performances during the Eurodam's first Carribbean sailing was some of the best entertaintment you will find on or off a cruise ship.

Several nights were standing room only in the Queens Lounge. Old and new school funk, R&B, soul, gospel...they were a dynamo and the entertainment hub of the ship. If you were to be blind folded, put on th ship and brought to the perfomance, you would swear you were on a Carnival ship with all the dancing going on. The musicians were excellent perfomers and entertainers...15 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Besides the itinerary, having this band on my next cruise will be a top consideration.

While the itinerary is the top consideration for myself, I do like either a good show and band before I retire for the next day of excursions. The Hal Cats were okay on the Zuiderdam a few years ago but I've lived in Memphis and have been to BB King's original club on Beale Street - if it's anything close to the real thing, I'll be pleased. I'm on the Westerdam in a few weeks and will report back on that ship's BB King band.

I couldn't agree with you more. We had them on the Noordam last Christmas and New Years. The New Years show was off the chain.

I really wanted to book another ship that had them for Christmas and New Years but didn't want to go on a b2b cruise .

So we're Amsterdam bound for Xmas and New Years

We were on Nieuw Amsterdam for 24 nights back in June-July and the blues band at BB KINGS was just amazing. They also did a show in the main showroom and blew everybody away. They were one of the best shows we have seen on any of our cruises.

I can't seem to get to the schedule for Eurodam. Are they a permanent fixture there? We'll be on in January...will they be there?

We experienced them a few years ago and loved them...and the excitement that they brought to the Queens Lounge in the evening...people stayed awake and out and seemed to have a great time.

This sounds awesome. I see by clicking on the link provided by the OP, that the schedule ends in January. I hope they extend it to the Ryndam in the summer!

Unfortunately they don't have them on the smaller ships that don't have a Queens Lounge.

The BB King band has me looking forward to our cruise next week more than I normally look forward to a cruise. I've been complaining for years about HAL's mediocre entertainment offerings and I'm so glad to hear they finally have something that really seems worthwhile. Maybe they will be able to keep me out of the casino everything night. :D

Cant wait!
