La Quinta Tampa Airport

We are staying at the LQ near the airport (TPA). Has anyone stayed there and then used their shuttle service to the port? Is the shuttle expensive and or slow getting to the pier, or should I just call a cab? Thanks in advance for you help! :D

Its the first hotel outside the airport on Spruce St. From the road it looks nice. I haven't been inside. I cant comment on the transfers. Taxis are plentiful.

We stayed there in april both pre and post cruise. Got a great rate. You do have to call for the shuttle when you land,and while we had no trouble finding where they were, once we got on, we had to keep circling the airport since some other folks couldn't seem to find it and kept calling the hotel that kept radioing to the shuttle driver. With the cheap rate we got it was worth it even having to pay for a cab to get to the port, that was $25 flat rate, plus tip. Hotel was fine, clean a bit older and appeared to border a not so nice area, but fine for one night and low rate. Kids enjoyed the pool. Only problem we had, was they ran out of pillows so we couldn't get extras.

Just to clarify, we only used the airport shuttle, not the shuttle to the port. For our family of 5, it was cheaper to take a cab, flat rate $25. I think the shuttle was $10 per person. They had a sign up at the desk for what time you wanted the shuttle. They also had shuttles to the shopping mall across the street which had lots of restaurant choices.
