"No" to being considered for an upgrade?

We are newbies to Seabourn and booked through a well known travel agency here in the UK. She has asked us if we wanted to be considered for an upgrade which we initially said "yes".

After reading several posts on CC, we phoned her back to say we don't want to be considered for an upgrade as I have read they can move you to another cabin in the same category which we don't want.

Was this the right decision?

Assuming you have chosen a specific suite, if you have an upgrade it will definitely be to a higher grade, but you will be expected to accept it without question, and it is just possible that it might not be in a spot you would like to be - which IMO would be half a connecting suite, or next to a service area and one or two others. It is quite a difficult decision - look at the ship plan and see if there are places you would prefer not to be -possibly under the pool deck area etc.

Always book the suite that you want, never be considered for a so called upgrade and that way you will never be disappointed.
