I just booked my first Carnival Premier Players Club cruise. The dates finally lined up where I could go. My question is--- For those of you who have gone on them before---

Were you pleased ?

Were the free gifts nice ?

Was it well organized ?

I always enjoy the casino and am really looking forward to it but just wanted some more information from those who have been on one.

Thank You :D:D

I have been on 2 Premier cruises. Aug. 2013 on the Freedom and Oct. 2013 on the Dream. The freedom cruise was the best Carnival cruise I've ever taken. We were really treated as VIP's and the casino staff was the best I've ever encountered. Each night we had a different gift in cabin such as truffles, choc covered strawberries, cookies from the coffee shop ( yum), 2 plush beach towels, sparkling wine. The casino host also sent my friend and I to the Chef's Table one night and the Steakhouse another night. It was a really great time. Now the Dream..totally different. The casino staff for the most acted as if it was a bother to them to have us there. We still received cabin gifts but not as many and no other comps were given. My level of play was the same on both cruises. If the Dream had been my first Premier cruise I most likely would have not booked one again. But I keep remembering the Freedom so going to do it again next week on the Glory.. I hope you have a great casino staff and if so you'll love the experience..

My premier cruise on the Legend was absolutely fantastic. Here is a cut and paste of a review I did and posted in the Carnival forum.

This was a Premier Cruise on the Carnival Legend. A Premier Cruise is one where they invite certain gamblers to special cruises with special perks for those gamblers. I cannot stress enough, if you get one of these offers do it at least once. It is sooooo worth it.

We live thirty minutes from the port of Tampa so the ride over on a Sunday afternoon was a breeze. We used valet parking and had priority boarding. We arrived at roughly 1 PM and were on the ship ten minutes later. Our cabin was ready and my Bombay Sapphire was waiting. A nice drink on the balcony and an envelope waiting for my better half with all of the information concerning free drinks while gambling and the welcome reception for her as a gambler. This was the oh no moment. I booked the cruise and she was supposed to get $400.00 from the casino and I was to get $600.00 from the casino in addition to both of us getting free drinks while gambling.

Like I said uh oh, nothing for me waiting in the room. I had contacted the players club at least five times and had received five different answers. Well $600.00 and free drinks is worth pursuing in my book. A quick call to our casino host Vicky and all was made right.

At five O'clock we headed down to the meet and greet and my paperwork was waiting there. Vicky came through for me. That meet and greet for the Premier Players is not to be missed. It was a first class operation.

They had at least twelve servers running around with gourmet appetizers, the one that stands out in my mind are the panko crusted prawns. The servers also served any drink you wanted from the open bar.

After the meet and greet a quick trip to the casino and we had our casino cash.

We gambled to the wee hours and ordered room service. On the advice of CC members we ordered two turkey sandwiches and two BLT's then we turned it into a club sandwich. Topped off with the wonderful chocolate cake and all is well with the world. BTW our cabin steward Erfan was the best we have ever had. He kept our room spotless, the ice chest full and was just a very pleasant individual. He receivedt high praises on our comment card as well as some additional green.

The next day being a sea day we slept in late and had room service again. We had salmon and bagels along with the chicken fajita wrap. Decaf for her caffeine for me. All was excellent. Room service is a real plus, those two pots of coffee alone have cost me close to $50.00 many times while staying in Las Vegas.

Anyway plenty of Black Jack being a sea day and Carlos another casino host asks us what time we would like to eat in The Steakhouse. He comped us the Steakhouse and two bottles of wine were also waiting for us. We only drank one and took the other back to Tampa with us. All in all a wonderful meal.

It seemed like just about every night the casino had some sort of nice gift waiting in our room. One night was champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, another it was two plush beach towels embroidered with "Carnival Players Club". We also received a $25.00 bar credit, a box of really nice cookies from Cherry On Top.

We ate in the MDR several nights and the food was good, some better than others. Yes the portions are small but I guess that is to cut down on waste. I just ordered a lot and always left satisfied. The Beef Stroganoff was wonderful as was the red snapper and lamb shank. The prime rib was just okay. All in all considering how inexpensive Carnival is I am surprised the food was as good as it is. BTW make sure you try the bitter and blanc.

Our service was over the top. We had your time dining and never had a wait to get in. Another great tip I learned here is if you have your time dining and like your waiter you can request him every night. We had Rodrigues at table 363 and we sat in his area everytime we used the MDR.

In Conzumel we did the La Casa en La Playa - A Select Retreatit was just okay. They did everything that was promised but quite frankly I don't think it was worth the money. We talked to some people who did Xplor Park - All Inclusive which cost $30.00 more pp and they couldn't quit raving about it. I mean they were really pumped up about it. Oh well we still had a good time and had plenty to eat and drink.

In Belize we stayed on the ship and recovered from a very late night in the casino

At Mahogany Bay we wandered around and enjoyed the beach. I will tell you next time I won't be so self conscious about this 57 yo body and I will bring my trunks and flip flops and get in that crystal clear water. A good tip, if you get back to the ship early go to The Red Frog and people watch out of the windows. You have a great view of all of the activity at the beach. Nice and cool in there and a nice Miami Vice makes it even better. Muriel the waitress is a real hoot and the foosball and shuffle board is a nice touch

Grand Cayman we wandered around and shopped. We did find a place that rents snorkels, mask and lockers for $15.00 total and you explore a reef right at the beach where they rent it. Here is a link http://paradiserestaurant.ky/

As stated above next time I will definitely not be so self conscious about being thirty ponds overweight and I will just enjoy myself. For that matter I might get motivated and just lose the weight.

In closing debarkation was a breeze. My wife who only cruised because of me is now a convert. On prior cruises the tipping thing drove her nuts. By the time we left The Legend she was handing out $20.00's everytime I turned around in addition to our prepaid tips. On the last morning we had a letter from the casino stating we have a free inside cabin on any cruise that last from 3-8 days as long as we sail before July 2014.

We both were very impressed with how polite everyone was, crew members and passengers alike. My DW stated of course the other passengers are polite, they are in a good mood because they are having fun like us.

We are not high rollers. We are just friendly outgoing people who get to know all of the casino workers and we also tip well when we are playing. We also play quite a bit when we are on the ship.

From the looks of things I think I just might take them up on that free cruise.

Thank You so much for the review!!! I am even more excited about my casino cruise.

As stated above, do not miss that meet and greet and if they have the slot tournament or Blackjack tournaments enter them. They were an absolute blast on The Legend.

Is booking a "premier casino cruise" different than booking a carnival "players club offer"?

Please don't hold it against me if I am wrong but I will say yes they are different. A Premier Cruise is only good for certain sailings on certain ships. You will get a letter in the mail showing the dates and ships. It will list the perks, things like a welcome reception, drinks on us cards, priority boarding and how much casino cash you will be receiving.

The letter will plainly state "Premier Cruise".

I have also seen online when I enter my VIFP number an offer from the Players Club that shows discounted sailings and then at the top of the page it will show Premier Cruises I am eligible for. Online it doesn't show how much casino cash I will be receiving.

Thank You 4104ever. I appreciate you taking the time to answer. If you could, let me know how your upcoming one was when you get back. Mine is not until August. :)

I will put that on my to do list. Hopefully I will be reporting back great things. Only 6 days to go !!

We too, my wife and I are booked on a Premiere casino cruise in Aug. We are on the Miracle going to Alaska. This will be our third casino cruise. Like all the other posters that have been on them, they give you really nice perks, I personally enjoy the Drinks on us card :D, but the gifts are nice, and also the meet and greet, plus you get priority boarding, and they have a drawing every day for money, it keeps going up. On our first casino cruise my wife won $100.00, and on the second one, I won 300.00, was really kool, so hope you enjoy your cruise, good luck,

how do i get in on this? i plan on cruising more in the future.

i just finished my 1st ever cruise on rci and I didnt feel like i was getting anything. Pit bosses gave me some stares but none offered me anything. There were swings of +1500 to -1500 in a given session. Played for at least 6-7 hours everyday for 3 days.

They gave me some paltry raffle tickets for a cruise which I felt was an insult.

Do these cruise offers and the $400-$600 comps only goto high limit players?

I consider myself a mid level player. $25-$50 hand average in blackjack. $50-$100 a spin in roulette.

***** my last Carnival Cruse (this was a Premier Cruise) my wife and I had a base bet of 6 dollars each while playing BJ. We were on a 7 night cruise and we played at least four hours a day. We do increase our bet when we do good and there were times we bet $50.00 a hand for a couple of hands. Then if lose a hand we go back down. Anyway on the last day I was given a free cruise for the two of us, up to eight nights in length. I asked why I was given this cruise and I was told because I lost $1500.00.

I think it is safe to say at your level of play Carnival would take notice. As a side note we always cut up, have a good time and make it a point to get to know the pit critters. I have found a good attitude and a friendly handshake goes a long way when it comes to comps.

The drinks on us card is awarded when you get 1500 points on your sail and sign card. Unfortunately, the slots are the best way to do this. I play both table games and slots, but I get the card on the first or second day on slots before I play tables. I am not a high roller, and to get very many points when you play table games, you have to bet at least 25.00 a hand and play for at least 16 hours during a cruise. I was told this by Carnival when I asked why I had no casino cash for my table play. If you get 4000 points on your card during a cruise, then they will have a drinks on us card waiting for you on your next cruise. You have to call the players club and ask for your comps. I also have them email me a copy of what my comps are for the next cruise when I book it. It saves problems if there is a glitch on board. I get the Premier Players Club offers two or three times a year. The comps sound very nice, but the cruise is only discounted, not free. I will post again after I sail for the one in August.

Just show up, I would bring my offer just to be safe, find any sign that says VIP and tell the Carnival representative you are on a Premier offer. They will lead you from there. One word of warning, after being on a Premier cruise you will be spoiled rotten. We went on the Legend in April and it was fantastic. DO NOT miss the welcome aboard reception and make sure you partake in the different tournaments. Every night we had something special given to us, steakhouse dinners with two bottles of wine, strawberries and champagne in the room. Plush beach towels etc., etc. It was fantastic.

My husband received one of these offers last week and after reading this thread I am excited to go see what it's all about!

I have a question about the "casino cash" and I have searched everywhere on CC and can't find an answer. How does this work? Do they put it on your card or do they actually give you cash? Is it like "promotional chips" that can't be cashed in - they can only be played?

Thanks!

Granted I do not sail Carnival. But if these offers are like any others (and I have been the sucker on many - ships and land based), there are varied levels of "Premier Offers". Not everyone gets the same thing. It is all tied to your play. Always.

I have never been able to take advantage of one of the premiere casino offers but I get casino offers for free interior staterooms quite a bit that have very reasonable upgrade prices to balconies and suites.
