Handmade Mugs from Straw Market

Hello!

 

My husband and I just returned from a cruise where we bought some handmade mugs from Nassau's straw market. These are the wooden ones that have designs carved into them. We were wondering if these are purely for decoration or if they are usable? We would love to use them but would hate to ruin them. Any input is appreciated!
