Ravenna on a Sunday

We've got a port call in Ravenna on Sunday, 27 June.

Ravenna is all about the mosaics, from what I see. Will the fact that our visit is on a Sunday have any impact (for good or ill) upon our visit to see them? Also, I assume that most shops will be closed, right? What about restaurants and cafes?

Well, it is not quite all about the mosaics, but that is certainly the highlight. I would suggest you visit the Mausoleum of Theodoric as it is the first great medieval edifice. the last time I was there, just about everything was open on Sunday. The churches will be closed to tourists for periods in the morning when mass is being held.

You may find most of the laces with the gorgeous mosaics are open, and in fact sometimes having Mass, and the cafes open as well but somewhat fewer of the shops, except tourist traps.
