brother_unknown Posted January 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2013 Our AMA waterways cruise will be landing by Ho Chi Min City. Can we get a visa for Vietnam at this time? AMA no help whatever. Visa office in SF says we can.
Shorex Posted January 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2013 Odd, we did get very explicit instructions about visas. We flew into Hanoi and used myvietnamvisa.com It's easier and less expensive than going through an embassy. Read the instructions and FAQ carefully, then read them again. If you enter Vietnam in HCMC, then leave Vietnam for Cambodia, then plan to re-enter Vietnam, be sure to get a multiple entry visa. You must arrange for your visa in advance, either by going through an embassy, using a visa service here at home, or using an online VOA "visa on advance" service. Just checking, what exactly does "cruise will be landing by Ho Chi Min City" mean? Are you flying into HCMC to start your tour? Are you ending it there? Details matter. mlk58 Posted January 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2013 We used http://www.myvietnamvisa.com for visas on arrival and had no trouble whatsoever. The only tiny hitch was that we didn't realize we needed passport photos, but they took them at the airport for something like $5 (American) apiece, which come to think of it was less than we would have paid for photos at home!
