OK so traveling was me (24yo) and my husband(28yo) on our 2nd cruise. Our first cruise was on the Norwegian Gem last year and since then I couldn't stop thinking about cruising.[emoji12]

We got to the port in New York early, like around 10am. Sail away was at 3pm but since we were coming from New Jersey and taking the bus I wanted to give us some extra time. Thank God we did come early because even though we waited an hour or so sitting in customs we were group 5 to board and there was A LOT of people still sitting and waiting.

Embarkation was a breeze. We put a credit card down at atrium and went straight to our room. Our room was ready and we met our room steward Harvey. [emoji5]

Our room was a Mini Suite with Large Balcony (M6)Room 8116

On the Norwegian website, I ordered the 24 pack of 1 litter water bottles which was $53.00 in total after tax.

We got a free bottle of sparkling wine since we are bronze status for the latitude program.

So after the excitement of boarding finish, it was time to wipe down, unpack, and plan. I am a germ freak so I brought lysol wipes with me and wiped down the surfaces and checked the bed for bed bugs. Everything was perfect so I didn't have to do that much cleaning.

After that, it was time for the muster drill and ours was located by the casino. Pretty crowded and we had to stand. This was different than the gem where everyone was sitting in the theater. But it was quick and we were off to explore the ship.

Our first meal on the ship was at Margarita ville. It's was empty, only a couple of people there, but it was pretty chilly on Day 1. We had the cheeseburger and fries. We are not big drinkers so we didn't order alcohol. I'll give it a 7 out of 10.

Us waiting for our food. The waiter was nice enough to take the pic for us with the Statue of Liberty. Great view with great food

After this we were exhausted and went back to our cabin and passed out. I stood up late the night before making sure I had packed everything and the excitement didn't let me sleep lol. [emoji42]

I'll try to write more soon, Enjoy!

You are doing great so far. I love the pictures. Please keep it coming I am on the Breakaway next Sunday to Bermuda and am looking for reviews. Also, can you tell me without getting too personal what you packed like how many pairs of pants, shirts, raincoat, etc? Thanks

To be honest, we overpacked, we brought 2 big suitcases and 2 carry on's with wheels, my husband mostly overpacked with 8 pair of sneakers. I brought 3 pair of sneakers and 4 pairs of sandels. He brought like 10 pairs of jeans and 5 pairs of shorts. I brought 5 pairs of jeans and 2 pairs of capri's. He brought 15 shirts and I brought 10 shirts. Two sets of swimming clothes each, 2 pairs of light jackets each, and 10 pair of underwear and socks each. And this is not including all the extra stuff we needed to pack like hair products, perfumes, deodorants, hats, sunblock, etc, etc.

Again I do NOT recommend to pack like us! My husband wanted "options".[emoji23]

Great review so far....appreciate all your pictures!

How were the burgers in Margaritaville?

Were they much better than the free ones elsewhere on the ship?

The burgers were pretty good. Cooked very well, I asked for well done. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Although, I didn't try a burger anywhere else on the ship to compare.

OK so on to Day 2...

Today we woke up around 12pm. I know, I know, we were missing some morning activities and we planned to wake up early but I guess we were jet lagged and I haven't slept that late in years. I'm a nurse and work 10 hour days so waking up late just reminded me I was on vacation! [emoji5]

So the shower in our mini suite was cool. It has extremely hot water that I like and those 4 extra spray jets. I love the big bathroom in the mini suite. I saw a lot of complaints on it but with my husband being more than 6 feet tall, we needed that extra space. I have some videos of the whole room, unfortunately it's not letting me upload the videos.

So we took advantage to enjoy the room and our nice balcony...

Then after we got ready, we went to the Main Dining Room to get some lunch. The food was good. What you would expect from a free buffet. After that we explored the ship a little, getting lost, and ending with some drinks by the pool. [emoji16]

Strawberry daiquiri and Pina colada

Up next...Cirque Dreams and Dinner Jungle fantasy!

Thanks for all the comments guys, I appreciate it [emoji4]

So I booked the Jungle Fantasy on the Norwegian website 1 month in advance. At that time it was $15 per person. As we got closer to the cruise date, it went up to $40 per person so if u want to see the show for cheeper, book it in advance. I know you can also book on the ship at the same $40 rate.

Our time was at 8:30 and when we entered a hostess greeted us. We asked for a booth and she showed us to our table. That atmosphere was awesome, just like a circus. Animal print everywhere, even on the table, dim lighting and weird figures walking around.

This is the front of the menu, I didn't take a pic of the actual menu, I was distracted by all the cool stuff around us.

This is steak and shirmp. Very delicious!

After everyone finished eating, the show began, like around 9:30pm. The show was AMAZING! I give it a 10 out of 10. I loved all the performers. There was contortionist, people doing flips suspended in the air, amazing juggling act and more. No pictures or photos are allowed during the performance. It is worth it. For me, I recommend everyone to see this show! This is one of the best things I did on board.

Just curious but why did you have to take your credit card down to the guest services? Did they not take your info before boarding?

Thanks.

U are correct. I put my credit card in the customs building when they gave me my key card. I was confused with my last trip that I was putting down cash so I had to visit the atrium upon boarding. Sorry for the confusion. [emoji38]

Enjoying your review so far. Thanks for sharing :)

Looking forward to more. We missed Cirque our last couple times on Breakaway because they changed the times of the early show and we would have missed sailing past the SOL and VZ Bridge. Based on your review we will book the later show next time. Thanks.

Is there any mini golf on board?

MARAPRINCE

Yes there is, on the top deck there is a sports complex. U can play basketball, soccer, and right around that area is the rock climbing wall, the ropes course, and the mini golf. I will show a pic later in in the review.
