Martinique Review

I just returned from a RCCL cruise that stopped in Martinique. Based on the very limited information on this port compared to others, I want to pay back the most helpful resources on Cruise Critic.

We took an island tour through RCCl that took us through the rainforest, to St Pierre and along the Caribbean sea back to our ship. The tour guide was such a delight. Her english was good and her love for Martinique was very evident. She started every sentence with "Dear lovely visitors" and called the rainforest the "raining forest". We still laugh about the sweet sentiment.

There was no need for euros in any of the shops we visited. The museum gift shop at St Pierre was wonderful with local jams, hot sauces, perfumes, spices, etc. Also we found a spice shop there that sold local jewelry, all kinds of fresh spices and soaps.

We also shopped at the pier shops and found everyone friendly but not pushy al all.

I loved this port but just saw a small portion of the island. I want to go back!!!
