Transportation from Seattle airport

Are there buses or shuttles from the Seattle airport to the pier, or do we need to rent a cab? If so, any idea on cost?

Since there were 4 of us we rented a Towncar (found on a websearch) that cost us $35 + tip. Seems we were thinking about a van ride back to the airport and they wanted $9 a person.

How long does the ride take?

I heard the airport is about 30 miles away, so probably a bit more than 1/2 hour.

we also hired a towncar at the airport...no advance reservations...cheaper for 4 than taking the van and a short ride to the waterfront.

The Princess ships use terminal 30 not the Bell Street Pier. Terminal 30 is in an industrial area just south of core downtown business area. Very close to the sport stadiums. It is about 14 miles from the airport to terminal 30. I believe there is a set cab fare from the airport to downtown areas which should include terminal 30.

Why not catch a regular taxi outside of the airport terminal? What's the cost on a plain old taxi?

May 31, 2003 Carnival Triumph to Western Caribbean.

Hi, I have been researching, there are shuttle srvs, but you have to find them in park str 4 etc, hassle when you have alot of luggage. I was also questioning @ a taxi from the airport to Quuen Anne dist hotel-does anyone know the price info for cabs in this area?? The hotel we are staying at offers a free shuttle to the ship the next day. Thanks to all for the wonderful info on this site, it has been so helpful. Liz

mommiemudd: I just contacted Townpointe and they said they would charge me $30.00 from the Hilton Seattle Airport Hotel to Cruise terminal. This sounds so reasonable. You were satisfied with the company, also does anyone know how much it would cost for just a taxi from hotel to pier. Thanks!

I was just emailed back from townpointe they had misquoted me. It is now $40.00 plus gratuity.

I am from Seattle, I would take either a taxi or towncar from the airport. They are competetively priced. Flat rate at the airport will be cheaper than off airport grounds paying by mile. The reason we have the flat rate is the taxi's were more expensive than the towncars before they instituted the flat rate schedule, so it was hurting their business.
