The "Anchorage Hospitality Center"

First time cruising to Alaska - We come into Whittier on the Diamond Princess, and have a transfer from Princess that says it will take us to the Anchorage Hospitality Center. What exactly is the "Anchorage Hospitality Center", and where is it located with respect to the actual downtown Anchorage center??

We will have time to spend there, and are thinking of doing some exploring of the downtown area, but wondering if where they drop us off is in the midst of it, or outside of the main part of downtown (which I am thinking of as being primarily between C and H streets, and 4th and 6th Aves, according to the maps I've seen).

Thanks for any help!

Hey laur,

The Anchorage Hospitality Center is just Princess' luggage and passenger drop off spot, but it is in the heart of town with plenty of restaurants and shopping in the surrounding blocks. Very cosmopolitan. Princess runs a shuttle bus to the airport every half hour, but check the schedule when they drop you off before you go exploring. Also check on when they close or you may have to fly home without your luggage. Enjoy your cruise.
