Philipsburg on Sunday

My cruise will be stopping in Philipsburg on Sunday May the 8th. I have heard a lot about these islands shutting down on Sundays and was wondering if anyone knows if that will be the case here. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

All bars and restaurants will be open.

Beaches may be busy, as locals like to spend Sundays on the beach with familys, especially le Galion and Mullet Bay Beach.

Some shops in downtown Philipsburg may be open.

Many shops located at the Cruise Facility will be open.

Generally if a cruise ship is in port, there will still be many things opened and lots of activity.

We were there on a Sunday in December and as mentioned all stores/restaurants are open.

In the early morning you will see many locals on their way to church.
