MSC Divina or RC Jewel of the seas

Recommended Posts

Can anyone give me some advice on which one to chose? Were looking at next year, both look good and are in the Med which is what we want, the parents will be with us and will be there first cruise and we have a teenage daughter and our grandmother will be coming and she has done many cruises! Just would like some advice on both the ships if anyone could help! Thanks in advance

I've sailed on both recently from San Juan and Miami. The Jewel is older, but still in good shape. The Divina is newer, and a bit larger. They both have beautiful decor in their public spaces as well as their cabins. MSC is based in the Mediterranean, so that would probably give them an edge in providing a good experience in that region. Regarding dining, I would place both of them as equals. For entertainment, MSC had a lot of acrobatics (ala Cirque Du Soleil) and cabaret-style shows. the Jewel had more typical broadway-style shows. Honestly, you can't really go wrong with either ship. ;)

Check the times in port - long or too short. Check that the ship does not dock on a day when major museums are closed. We saw this happen to cruisers in places such as Istanbul.

Look for a cruise which starts in one place and ends in another. Try not to have Rome (Civitaveccia) as just a one day stop.

If you posted the itineraries here people could advise which may be better.
