Japan Liquor

I am debating on whether to bring a bottle of liquor on the plane to Japan with me or to buy it on the plane? Also I thought I could buy it at the airport at the duty free store. I know everything is very expensive in Japan! I would appreciate your opinions on this. Does anyone know if Costco is in Japan?

A bottle of whiskey in Japan costs 2 or 3 dollars more than you would pay in the USA. That is promarily a function of the weak dollar.

There is a Costco outside Tokyo. Transportation from a Tokyo hotel to Costco and back would cost you about $20 or $30.
