Pre-cruise hotel-getting from airport to hotel? use transfer voucher airport to pier?

Can we use the transfer voucher from RCI to get from airport to hotel if we booked a precruise hotel day before sail? Or how do we get from airport to hotel? On our own I guess. We did not book the flight through the cruiseline. Then when do we use the transfer voucher? From hotel to pier?

What port???? If it's Miami, the best, fastest way is by cab. Around $20 from airport to downtown hotels and $6 from hotel to pier. It you take a shuttle, you sit and wait till it's full, then you have to wait for your luggage. Shuttles from hotels to pier don't usually start running until mid afternoon. Take A Cab.

San Juan- hotel is near pier- I need to know if I can use the RCI transfer voucher as a ticket to give to the shuttle and go to the hotel from the airport instead of the pier since we are arriving the day before we cruise.
