Carnival transfer or cab?

We're arriving at JFK at 10.20 am on the morning of our cruise.

Is it better to take Carnival's transfer ($30 per person / there are 3 of us) or just take a taxi?

I agree Taxi or Uber, I think taxi is a flat rate.

If you are leaving from the Manhattan cruise terminal, the flat taxi fare from JFK is $52.80; with tip and tolls, plan for ~$65-70.

If you are leaving from Brooklyn, a taxi will be on the meter, so the fare will depend on traffic. You can get an estimate at http://www.hopstop.com. A car service (Dial 7, Carmel, Allstate) will give for a fixed rate; you can often find coupons online.

Whether you take a car service or taxi you have to add the tolls and tip to the fare.
