Hours to fill before embarking ship in Fort Lauderdale

Hi. We are flying a red eye into FLL and landing at 7 AM. Need suggestions for killing time between deplaning and boarding the cruise ship around 2 pm. Nearby restaurants, points of interest, etc. We will not have a car and will have luggage. Thank you!

http://www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area hotel and tourist info. ;)

I would book a budget motel near the airport for the night before, advise them that you will not check in until about 7-8:00, and ask for a delayed check out. Shower, nap, maybe a dip in the pool, lunch and then a taxi/Uber to your ship.

Your other option is to pay to store your bags at FLL and then head out someplace fun for brunch and a few mimosas. Then collect your bags and taxi/Uber to the port.

Without a car anywhere you go will cost you more money than a rental car and you will have to drag your luggage with you unless you get an airport area hotel room with an airport shuttle as suggested by John.

Go to Embassy Suites via Uber. Check your luggage with the porters ( tip well ) They have a large conference room for luggage and they are quite organized.

Exit hotel to the shopping center behind it. Walk around , eat etc. ( there's some places with sidewalk seating so you could rest too)

When you are ready pick up your luggage and Uber to the port .

When we have a late departure flight, out of FLL, we take a cab to the Hilton Marina 17St and have them hold the luggage for the day post cruise. Then we take the water taxi for the day.

This might be a good option for you since you're coming in on a red eye flight that morning.

FLL airport is close to Fort Lauderdale downtown and Las Olas area (about 11 min drive). It sucks though to have your luggage. It would be nice to drop it off and then you can enjoy the city until it's time to head to the port.

They are okay with you checking your luggage without checking in?

Seems you're on Regal Princess.

Are you sure you'll have to wait until 2 PM to board the ship?

Princess assigns staggered times to avoid crowding. But you are correct that if they show up earlier, they won't be held back if there are open reps to check then in.
