Speaking of Coupons...

We took a Celebrity Cruise a few years back, but never signed up for Capt.Club. However this time around my TA did sign us up, as of March 15,2004.

Question, will I receive coupons? Or a magazine? I was told elsewhere here a while back that I would be receiving same. Sooo, since it has been over 2 months now I am wondering if they are just a bit tardy, or if this is norm. My next cruise is September 26 and if I can save a few $$$, all the more to spend somewhere else.

From now on anytime I get a coupon I will offer it on CC...I don't need the grief. I will gladly pay the postage if someone else wants the headache.

Back to the original question...and actually I have an additional question instead of an answer. We're booked for Galaxy Panama Canal cruise and were told we could sign up for CC but would get nothing until we'd actually completed a cruise. Guess that makes sense, at least when it comes to coupons, but wonder why we couldn't start getting the magazine...if there is such a thing?

Until Galaxy

The magazine comes out quarterly - and the coupons are in the magazine(newsletter).
Roomgypsy- you probably signed up too late for this quarters issue.
Randyk47- since you haven't been on a Celebrity cruise, you can't be a member yet. Therefore, you would not get the newletter.

The magazine isn't much more than a glorified carrier piece for the coupons...aside from great photos, you aren't missing much.

Thanks Hajekfam....kind of figured as much. I actually was just musing that they at least could send us the magazine. I'm in one of those moods where I can't get enough information.

There is a big problem with getting the magazine and coupons to Canada. I usually wait until everyone on CC is talking about coupons and then phone Captain's Club. They tell me that they "can't" mail to Quebec but they will always let me apply the value of a coupon to my bookings even though I did not receive the magazine/coupons.

Thanks all for your replies. I am kind of like you Randy, the magazine might sooth the savage beast for info. ... Interesting Deb.. not mailing to Canada, would that be because the snow has gone and the dog sleds are retired for the season? LOL.... just kidding!! ....So now I have one more question then Deb....how do you go about applying the 'value' of coupon to your holiday, without the actual coupon? We are going to Hawaii in September and would like to apply it to that trip.
Thanking you in advance.

There's a coupon code on the back
of the coupon along with your CC number. That's all the info your TA needs to apply it to your cruise.

Hope this helps!

Phone the Captain's Club number and tell them that you live in Canada and never receive the magazine and that you want the coupon applied to your booking. They will do it and if for some reason they tell you no ask to speak to a supervisor. I have never had a problem getting the coupons applied to my bookings.

Roomgypsy,
Debs0712 is correct. We became members in Oct and did not get the 4th quarter magazine. I called Captains Club and was told we should get the next one. Well we didn't (finally got the summer one), but when I called back and talked to CC, I found out that there was a coupon that I could apply to the the cruise I had booked (6/12/04). Since I had not paid the balance yet, she gave me the coupon number and told me to have m TA call them with that number and they weould tell the TA how to apply it. Sure enough, it worked.

Debs

I have had the same problem re getting the CC newsletter in Montreal. I was given a name to contact. Her name is Tensi. She was very helpful and not only had the newsletter here quickly but also sent an email newsletter. The email newsletter contains the coupons and their codes. Here is Tensi's email address:

Thanks so much for the e-mail address. I'll try to get in touch with her. Celebrity told me that the newsletter doesn't get mailed to Quebec because we don't have 3rd class mail. Strangely, we used to get the newsletter as well as the one from from Royal Caribbean.

Hi everyone. Happy Memorial Day.

Danno will be interested in our experience, I think. We have a suite booked on a future cruise. Our TA called the Captain's Club to ask them to apply the $125 coupon to our booking and was not very politely informed that the coupon is good for bookings from April 15 through June 30, and since we booked on April 12, we're not eligible. Incredible!!! What do they want people to do, cancel and re-book? This makes no sense whatsoever.

Hi everyone, an update to my questions re coupons and the magazine etc. First off, Thank you all who were so kind to reply and give me information so that I could apply in gaining this credit.

Well to make long story short, the coupon for September 26 sailing was applied and we are getting a $210, Cdn funds credit to our room! Which of course, I will now apply to another excursion provided by Celebrity, so I think it is a win - win, situation.

Thanks once again to those who guided me along here

Glad, they applied the coupon for you
For the poster that Celebrity did not want to apply the coupon, because of date of books, ask to speak to a supervisor. I am a manager in a Dept. store and the associates can not bend policy, they can only state what policy is, so the person who just walks away and says ok, does not get any further-If they have me come over because they asked for a manager and are polite- they usually get want they want, as long as it is not something oulandish. If they do not let you do it, if the price of the cruise is the same, let them know you will now cancel your cruise and rebook it--any maybe now with them.
We booked a cruise while on the Mariner for this summer(Jewel of the Sea to Northern Europe and left a deposit down to get our $200 shipboard credit, when we got home, decided that if we wait until next year to go to Northern Europe, it would be something like 4,000 dollars less, so we choose to do Millie, they did not want to change the booking an have me keep the 200 shipboard, until I told them if they didn't they could take me off ther Celebrity and RCCL mailing list I would find a new co to cruise with, boy, did they change there tune fast.

I couldn't find the other coupon thread that I had previously posted to (must have gone bye-bye in the conversion), so I thought I'd post here.

I couldn't find my Captains Club coupons (in fact, I had even forgotten about them until I read the old thread). After reading the other thread, it was suggested to call the Captain's Club to get the offer number, then give that to your TA to get it applied, even after the original booking had taken place. I wanted to post my results: Celebrity definitely accepted the coupon, even though I didn't actually have it in my hand! So, thanks to these boards, I saved $125! Woo hoo! :)

I felt it was worth reviving the thread to help others who didn't know or had forgotten about those valuable Captain's Club coupons!

Happy crusing to all!

We booked fall cruise while on the Summit in the spring and then the coupon came out. Originally they would not honor the coupon because we had made the reservation on April 13 but finally they did honor it. Just keep calling until you get someone to tell you yes -- go to supervisors and above them. As long as you are sailing the correct ship during the correct times keep persuing it. Good luck.
