Does anyone have information on organizing a cocktail party for a roll call?

One of the benefits of booking through a group with Carnival is the assistance of our Group Event Planning Department, who can arrange pre-purchased cocktail parties for groups with a minimum of 20 guests. Events will be scheduled based on availability and at a time that will not conflict with dinner times and popular Carnival events such as Captain’s Celebration and Fun Farewell parties.

To make these arrangements contact the Group Event Planning Department via e-mail at Groupeventplanning@carnival.com

Or you can call 1-800-764-7422.

On our last cruise, I tried to organize a cocktail party for our roll call group. However, since several of them had already purchased the Cheers Beverage Program, no one wanted to pay extra for a one hour cocktail party. Hope you have better luck than I did.

I organized a meet and greet on the Breeze last November and it was great. Back then the prices were about half of what they are now, and now with the lowering of the price of the Cheers program, it may be very hard to get the minimum of 20 to participate.

Have been to quite a few in the past and they were great but now that they just about doubled pricing dont think we will be going to any more.

If you do organize it get wrist bands or name tags to make sure only people who pay get served.

Carnival still offers it but it is just difficult to get the number of people required, since many of our last 4 cruise Groups did cheers...

We went to an organized roll call party before they upped the prices. My SO does not drink at all, but he was still able to come to the party but did not get a wrist band. However, last year someone tried to organize a party and everyone who attended had to pay even if they did not drink. Therefore, he was not signing up.

It turned out we did not have enough interested in paying so we just met at the Aft Bar and had our own gathering. We took up the whole aft area so there was interest in meeting but not paying for the drinks.

By the way, the CD was on our roll call and he reserved the aft area for us. The asst. CD took a photo of our group.

This was on the 2nd leg of our B2B. On the first leg, our roll call met at one of the lido bars by the pool. It was so noisey that I didn't stay very long. The aft bar was much, much better.

Since the roll-out of the Cheers program, these parties are now becoming a thing of the past.

The Cheers program and the higher M&G prices does change the way roll calls will happen. Our roll call has planned to do a meet and greet on our own. We plan on meeting up at one of the bars and enjoying the new friends we've come to know over the months.

Carnival (depending on the CD) will still reserve a room for you if you group is large enough, you just won't have a bartender... lol
