Does Zip Lining feel like you are free falling?

I guess the harnass keeps you from feeling like its a free fall. We did the canopy tour in puerta vallarta last December. I stayed away because of weight but since I'd lost 10 lbs I decided to try it. Really enjoyed it - should have done it sooner. I was 50 lbs below the weight.

Does it feel like you are free falling? Because I also don't like roller coasters or heights.

No. To me free falling is bungee jumping, jumping out of planes or something that takes a bit to "bottom" out and you leave your stomach back where you started from. In ziplining you stand at the edge of the platform, sit back in your harness, raise your feet and glide down the cable to the next platform.

I think it feels more like a rustic swing than free falling. Did you even swing on a rope with just a big knot of the bottom to keep you from sliding off the bottom?

Of course, today's ziplines are a bit more high tech and do have safety features...:)
