Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)

Hey,

How's life?

The guy is on his own crusade to make cruising just the way he wants it

He is 0.01% of CC which is probably not even 0.1% of cruisers.

I am sure his casino $$$ are not significant enough to even cause a blip on the radar if he were to stop gambling in a smoking casino.

A very selfish individual.

Any good offers lately?

Happy Days:)

All is well :)

The last 2 offers I received were the BBQ bash and the Holiday Celebration, with Andy as the MC, two great offers, can't do either, we'll be on Anthem.

I'll chime in with ditto. I received the survey, too. It was kind of sneaky asking about our lifestyle with respect to where we shop and what brands we identify with.

The offers I'm getting from Club Royale are repeats of offers they've sent before. I appreciate the attention... really, I do. After not receiving offers for so long, it's nice to be getting them. Unfortunately, my cruising dance card is full with what I've got booked already, and with a new job on the horizon, I'll be even more constrained for a year or two.

I did not get the survey. If they sent on line they didn't ask my opinion. Though I keep receiving very nice offers for cruises. If it came in snail mail we haven't been around to check snail mail.

Linda - you are correct in your comments about PITA. He has posted on this thread so he reads all. And rants about smoking and lack of suites he wants in many threads.

Ps - wonder why they want to know where people like to shop, lifestyle and purses and watches? Are they sending Christmas presents?:)

As an example, one of the questions was like:

Q: At which store do you shop?

  • Walmart
  • Target
  • I don't shop at either

Another question had choices of JC Penney, Sears, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, etc.

I would guess that they're trying to get a sense of the socioeconomic status of the survey participants.

I didn't get a survey!!! That's ok. They're giving me plenty of reasons to be happy. Celebrity banned smoking from all of their casinos some time ago and I believe they are doing quite well. Not to sound snobby, but I believe it's a fact that the majority of the people who have higher incomes and lots of money don't smoke (there are exceptions as in everything but this is the overall generalization). Hopefully they will make the right decision on this policy. Perhaps they can do more non smoking nights in the casino and track the numbers. Granted RCI is a different demographic than Celebrity, there has to be some meaningful information from Celebrity that can be used to help determine this policy.

My husband and I are on Anthem of the Seas and became VIP members in the Casino a year ago. I went to see the Casino host, she wasn't there, so spoke to her assistant and we were told we couldn't receive the drink sticker because we had to requalify with 1500 points before we were given the sticker, as well as any discounts on future cruises. We were told we were having to requalify because we had done a 3 night cruise and that we hadn't earned enough points on that cruise to remain VIP, and that this was a second chance for us. The assistant said this was just received from corporate the day before our cruise started, which was October 1/16.

I been CR VIP for a number of years. Did not get any survey.

Interesting about the requalify. I knew it was coming...just wasn't sure when it would start. I was told (wrong, obviously) that there would be a grandfathering at first....but that eventually you would have to maintain a certain level to continue to get the perks.

I am getting the online offers...as Marc remarked, they are all ones I've seen a number of times (they must be having trouble filling the BBQ thing. I keep getting those !).

Regarding the requalification, I'll be interested to find out whether it's something related to Bronx12's specific situation or something more general. I guess I'll find out on Sunday. I'll report back with my findings from Liberty of the Seas.

Will be on Liberty just after you Marc, so also interested in the qualification aspect of the New Program.

It all sounds a little amateur to me and they have lost the plot of how to treat their VIP's.

When we board soon, if there is no VP sticker on my Seapass card, then CR will get no GS $$$:D

Best of Luck to you for next week, win plenty;) and have a great cruise!

Happy Days!

I was also told that original CR VIP members would be grandfathered in and the new members would have to qualify yearly. Of course everything is all related to your level of play.

Receiving duplicates of CR events too, problem is we already have cruises booked on some of these event dates so I can take advantage of these sailings. CR said they will be issuing all their 2017 CR events much sooner as they are aware many of us do book well in advance.

Just spoke to CR and was told each Host is able to make up their own rules as far giving out comps like drink stickers and comp specialty restaurants. Don't understand why perks can't be consistent on all RCI ships. Been receiving certain casino perks all year on Anthem with 10 sailings already this year and then all of sudden, a new Host comes on board Anthem, who does not know me or my level of play and things change. I gave a lot of feedback to CR this morning which they said they will pass it along to their Supervisor and to Corporate.

Marc, best of luck to you in the casino on Liberty and with your upcoming new job!

Have a wonderful cruise :)

It would be nice if CR would inform their members when things are changing, instead of being surprised once on board.

We'll be back on board Anthem next week doing a B2B and I know for a fact, people from the Miami Corporate office will also be on board also since it's CR Golf Event, I will be talking to them.

Best of luck to you in the casino!

Thank you very much!

It's going to be quite a whirlwind trip. My last day at the current job is Friday, and then on Saturday, I fly down to Houston for the cruise. After disembarking from the cruise, I'm flying to California to spend a week starting the new job at their headquarters for orientation, and then the next week, I start working at the office here in Pittsburgh.

Linda, tell them that many of us want more information. They seem to be trying to copy the MGM or Caesars models: Recency, frequency and monetary criteria to determine benefits. But those programs are somewhat clear. CR is totally vague.

So maybe earn 1500 points a cruise...What's that worth to us? Need the info.

HI Linda,

I will see you onboard next weekend.

I'm getting pretty concerned about the changes as I'm doing several B2Bs and CR told me after my cruise two weeks ago that they are only looking at the last cruise for offers and casino play, that it was a recent change- I've got 5 cruises in final right now with 2 more about to go final, if they aren't looking at all the cruises and taking B2Bs into consideration - what's the point of playing ?

Also - I've cruised Empress and the casino was empty - the smokers and CR members were all outside on deck 6 (where you could smoke) complaining about the no-smoking. I refuse to go through that experience again.

I'm just not feeling the love.

Tami

I do not cruise as much as the rest of you... a few times a year, but have been a CR VIP for several years. I will be on the Adventure in November, so I am very interested also if we have to re-qualify or be grandfathered in. I was originally told by CR I would be grandfathered in. However, though I am "invested" well on each of my cruises, overall I spend less than those that cruise more often. If I have to re-qualify each time, it will reflect my level of "investment......lol.

Even though rebates stopped in March, we've all been waiting patiently now for over a year for the new program to *completely* roll out, which it has not yet. I see this is your first post, welcome to CC, as a slot player, 1500 points will get a few hundred dollars off a cruise and the additional slot points below will get you the following :

2400 points -you will get a certificate for a complimentary inside room or $500 off a sailing.

3600 points -you will get a certificate for a complimentary oceanview room or $750 off a sailing.

4800 points- you will get a certificate for a complimentary balcony room or $1000 off a sailing.

MGM is part of MLife which RCI has partnered with and Caesars is with Total Rewards which is *not* part of RCI.

Is there anything else you would like to know? :)

I've already received casino rate discounts of 45% and 38.73% (really) off two Oasis 7 day cruises. CR would not tell me why, or the criteria, or the tier level that yielded these figures. I was happy to receive these prices, but I really don't know why I qualified.

At what level of play do comp drinks and restaurants happen? My wife gambles $50 a week and gets nothing, as expected. I run considerably more through video poker and have received more, but it's still not clear what my play gives me.

In the end it's not too important. I gamble for the fun of it, and if I receive some perks I'm happy.

But Linda, please tell me your technique for snatching those $100 packs from the casino crane game. Easy money, right?

I never played the crane game  it's easy money for the casino *only*

So, I spoke to Christina, the casino host on Anthem, and she clarified that you have re-qualify on each cruise in order to maintain your VIP status, and it's open to everyone. She gave an example of if you go on a cruise that is more time spent with your family than in the casino, then you don't have VIP status for your next cruise if you don't get enough points but was hesitant to give point values, although she did tell two ladies in front of me that they needed 5000 points for an interior room. She also said there were several guests on board that were not happy with the new program and was letting corporate know. She said for me to stop by her desk tomorrow night and she would tell me my rebate. I asked her about being "grandfathered", and she said there was no grandfathering.

It was my understanding that the rebates were gone with the old program. Did this change?

Hi Mary

Yes, rebates are gone.

She gave an example of if you go on a cruise that is more time spent with your family than in the casino, then you don't have VIP status for your next cruise if you don't get enough points but was hesitant to give point values, although she did tell two ladies in front of me that they needed 5000 points for an interior room. Wow, the hits just keep on coming with this new program. You previously needed 2400 points for an inside room, now the Host is saying you need 5000 points? It would be better not gambling and taking that money and paying for an inside room and you'll still come out ahead with money left over if they do indeed change the points to 5000 for an inside room. I'm wondering if the perks/points are somewhat different for new members since CR does not have a listing of their track play in the casino.

Just spoke to CR and they are not aware of this point change. They did confirm the point system is still the same as far as they know which is 2400 points for an inside cert., 3600 points for an oceanview cert. and 4800 for a balcony cert. I asked the CR associate to confirm the facts for me regarding the points for certificates and send me an email, he said he will get back to me.

CR also indicated that they have added freeplay for slot players, I asked him to please look into the facts on the freeplay and advise me. There was no mention of any changes with table play players.

CR did confirm no one was being grandfather in anymore and members will have to qualify to maintain VIP status. All comps are at the discretion of the Casino Host. For those of us who have been members for years, CR can easily go back and track our gambling history. Requalifying yearly for VIP status will definitely come into play when CR rolls out Phase 3 and their tier levels just like MGM and other land casinos do with their players. Currently CR does not know when this final phase will come into play.
