Port of Los Angeles Waterfront Red Car Line...?

We are just curious where one would connect to this train from LAX, also...is it worth taking this to the port instead...of a shuttle, or an RCL transfer bus? What are some peoples experience with this train service and any information on it. Thank you?

There is no rail line from LAX to the port...

This is what I think is confusing you:

It's a 1.5 mile line that just goes along the waterfront in San Pedro...not a connection to LAX 20 miles away...

Yes...we are a bit confused....wse were thinking it may be fun or more of an adventure - than just hustle in on a shuttle and hit the boat....however; we thoight maybe cab it or shuttle bus it to the 1st stop of the rail line and then head into thr port stop for our cruise............? If not, we will just stivk wiht our shuttle. it seems RCL does transfer/bus but...we have to wait and wait and wait (until ti fills up) and then it heads off to the ports...we just did not want to be bored waiting on some bus?

So..........um..who uses this train service...mainly people who are staying in the hotels near by....is it even worth taking or not?

Yeah...it actually goes the OTHER way from the pier...LAX is north...the trolley starts at the cruise terminal on the NORTH and riuns south to 22nd street...

Just take the shuttle to the pier...

If you really want to ride the trolley, get to the port early, check your luggage, then ride the trolley south, maybe get off and walk aound then take it back to the pier...

Who rides it? Locals, people staying in local hotels, etc. It's more of a novelty than it is serious transportation...

Haven't been on it, but I figured it was one of those touristy types of attractions.

For getting from LAX, it's gonna be taxi, shuttle (like Supershuttle or one of the other ones you can hire), or rental car. Or have a friend who lives around here who's willing to pick you up (I'm not volunteering).

The red car is useful for those that don't want to wait for a shuttle and cannot walk any kind of distance. It's more a functional museum piece than serious transportation. Money would have been better spent and served the area greater had they brought back the electric trolley cars that used to take passengers from the pier to downtown San Pedro.

We are working on getting that back in action though but there is this thing about the city being broke? Now how did that happen?
