Grand Cayman Island Tour

We are considering booking the 2 hour Grand Cayman island tour through Carnival on April 25th from the Miracle. Anybody do this tour?? Was it enjoyable??

We did the same tour on the Triumph. We picked the tour because we wanted to be one of the first ones off the ship. Having never been to GC before, it was nice to get out and about and see the area.

We went to Hell, the turtle farm and then drove around the general area. Then we were dropped at the port area. We then walked to Capatin Marvin's for our snorkel trip.

We enjoyed the tour because if gave us a good idea what the island was like. I knew after the tour we'd be back for a land vacation. We just did that and had a wonderful time!

Thanks for the information, you have convinced us to take the tour as well. Did you do much shopping while you were there? If so what were some places you would recommend.

The first time we visited, we didn't have time for shopping. We did the island tour, stingray city, and then ate a late lunch at Rackham's and then scooted back to the tender line. We did a little shopping at a store next to Captain Marvin's. They had Xmas ornaments, shirts...things like that.

This last time we were there for a week, so we had time to shop and explore the island. There are all sorts of shops in the port area. You can find jewelry, upscale clothing, t-shirts, and about any type of souvenir you could want. There's also rum cakes (to the right of the port area). If you are pinched for time, Breezes restaurant, which is right across the street from the port (in the building that has "Landmark" on the top floor) had a nice selection of rum cakes, and local sauces.

One night we sat on the balcony at Breezes, and the couple next to us watched their tender line as they enjoyed their drinks. When it was short...they scooted across the street and jumped on the last tender. I'm not that brave...but they didn't miss the ship.
