Turnberry Isle Hotel - Things to do pre cruise

We are arriving to the hotel late afternoon (departing on cruise in the morning) and was wondering what we could do near our hotel? Is Hollywood beach fort lauderdale or miami beach an option, are they far? as we are only there for a short period thought we may as well view some places rather than stay in the hotel.
