Best time - weather wise - to go

We are thinking of doing a cruise in the Northwest and are starting to look at them - ports of call and whatever...

What is the best time of year for a cruise here. I know weather is so subjective - some like it cooler and some warmer.

If you did a cruise here, what time of year was it and how was the weather?/

The weather can vary considerably north to south along the west coast. Are we talking LA to Seattle (or vice versa)? Probably August. Second half of August into early September.

Mid-July to mid-August are the driest weeks in Cascadia (Vancouver/Seattle).

We were looking at 2 different itineraries - one from Vancouver down to San Diego and one that started at San Diego and went to San Francisco.

May have to do some more research before deciding which one to do.

Note that most cruises to/from the Northwest are in the nature of one way "repositioning" cruises - so for the most part they will only occur in the spring (Apr/May) heading north, or fall (Sep/Oct) heading south. I'd say the weather in the fall is more likely to be better, but anything can happen.

Just between San Diego and SF, I would go in August, September, maybe early October.

We're on the roundtrip from San Pedro in September on RCI Jewel.
