Default What is not allowed...?

I know irons are banned, but I've read different responses to curling irons, hair straighteners, power strips, and fans. What about these items and what are other similar banned items?

If you have read the Carnival contract it states no curling irons or things of that nature. Power strips are allowed. But are taken if not in good condition. Just read the contract to find the correct answer you are looking for.

Here is a link, just scroll down a bit~

Miscellaneous Concerns:

• Personal grooming devices such as hair dryers, flat and curling irons, shavers, etc., are allowed on board when used with proper caution. These devices should not be used when other electrical appliances are plugged in. However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard, they will be removed and returned the last day of the cruise prior to debark.

you can take personal cosmetic electronics like curling irons, blow dryers, hair irons, electronic curlers. i believe small fans are allowed as well as some types of power strips. but leave them on when you leave the cabin and they will be confiscated. the cruise line will treat you like an adult until you abuse that privilege.

and the reason there is usually only one plug in a room is simply for the reason that in this day and age of electronic gadgets people will try and plug in all of the following at the same time. phones, ipads, hair grooming aids, listening devices, fans, smuggled coffee makers, electric raczors, steamers and the list goes on and on. fire is a very primary threat on a cruise ship and many, many fires are started by simple electronic devices. the cruise line is trying to keep everyone safe though many passengers just think they are out to make their individual lives miserable for a week.

If you read the carnival frequently asked questions it says curling irons and things of that nature are allowed.

They only take power strips if the wire is deemed dangerous such as exposed wire we have taken our power strip on the last two carnival cruises and have not had a problem with it
