Help with beach day on 2/11/13

We have planned to go to Porto Marie on 2/11/13 looks like it is a national holiday and the Childrens carnival parade. Someone familiar with the island am I guessing right that on a Holiday the beaches will be jammed packed? Any ideas for a snorkel trip?
