Default Price has gone down (after we paid)!!

So we booked two weeks ago for the carnival fantasy for 5 days in April. Just notice the price has dropped $30 per person since we paid on full. Does anyone know carnivals policy? Is it possible to get the difference as an on board credit.

They couldnt have booked Early Saver. They were not within the time frame.
OP- sorry only Early Saver has price protection. However, if you see a cabin in a higher category for the same price or less than what you paid, if you call, they may give you a free upgrade.... not sure if they do this anymore. But doesn't hurt to try...

As late as you booked Early Saver would not have been available and that is the only rate you can get a price reduction after final payment.

Sorry.....

OP sorry no price reductions and after the rate restructure this past Dec. they no longer upgrade if you see a cabin higher than yours that is cheaper. Doesn't mean you can't try though.

That's not possible if the OP just booked 2 weeks ago.

Welcome to the club OP. I booked a Med cruise in Jan and now its $150/pp cheaper. Live and learn. And try to never look at the prices after you book, even though I can't stop myself

If your catogory went down perhaps the others did also. If that is the case you can upgrade yourself by adding a few $. Recently I upgraded from inside to OV for under $20 on an 8 day cruise. Good luck.

But when did you book? They changed things starting 12/3/12.

Not sure, though, if the new rules would apply to upselling yourself. Worth a try.

Are you past final payment date? (Not just when you paid for the cruise)

ANY rate gets price adjustment before final payment date, you just need to call or tell your TA.

That is good advice, I will try it next time. We got burned by Carnival by paying in full, then the price dropped, but no OBC, nothing. The TA(vtg) was less than helpful, not using him again.

It's when final payment is due, not when it is made.

Like a wedding dress and a fiancee' .... once I pick a cruise, I stop looking at the price after the final payment....

( nothing wrong with Early Saver, I just do not like all the restrictions...not for me)

so I called and was overly nice to the woman and asked about an onboard credit for the difference or possibly an upgrade to compensate. She said she couldn't do it, I thanked her and hung up. 5 minutes later she called back and said she was authorized to upgrade us from the lowest category to an ocean view. Sometimes it pays to be nice.

Not being rude or mean but golly gee...once again Carnival is not being consistent...surprise surprise. Like I posted earlier...not suppose to get a free upgrade after the rules changed but guess they do it for who they want to.

Like I said before...does not hurt to try...guess it worked for you...didn't for me...but congrats!
