What to do in Ocho Rios...not an excursion

Will be in Ocho Rios in April, first time for us in Jamaica. After looking at the available excursions and resort day passes, we've decided on doing none of them! So, what suggestions do people have for spending the day in port?

Unfortunately there is not a whole lot to do in Ocho if you are not on a tour. :(

my suggestion would be to go “scotches” restaurant.

amazing jerk chicken and pork - world famous in fact.

rated on trip advisor, seen on US cooking shows…

after a tonne of hot spicy pork and chicken - head over to laughing waters…

this is a government owned water fall beach facility…

very rustic… locals will happily assist you with entry and get you what ever you want…

talk about natural beauty…. nothing compares…

dunns river is waaaay to touristy… this little gem is awesome…

or you would like 20 minute drive… ask for “blue hole”…

Would you recommend taking a cab on our own to Scotchies and Laughing waters?
