For the first day of the new season, Juneau will be welcoming two dam ships. Both Nieuw Amsterdam and Eurodam are due in at 1300/1 pm local time (remember that the ships will likely appear on the webcam before then) and will sail at 2200/10 pm. They are the only ships in port.

Nieuw Amsterdam is scheduled to dock at the Cruise Ship Terminal (CT) and Eurodam at the Alaska Steam Ship Dock (AS). These are the two closest to the webcam.

Unfortunately, this is not supposed to be the nicest day in Juneau. The weather forecast calls for a high of 47F/8C and a low of 38F/3C with a 90% chance of rain. Sunrise is 5:03am, sunset is 8:45pm.

The Juneau webcam can be found at http://www.juneauharborwebcam.com/

For those unfamiliar with the docks in Juneau, here is a map.

Thank you for the information.

Don't know if I will be here when they arrive in Juneau.

Definitely won't be here when they leave.

Unless they are scheduled to leave before 8 pm Alaska time, I never see the sailaways either.

Sail-ins are the principal viewing for me.

Thanks, Scrapnana. I'm not sure if I will be here, but I will try!

PS There was a 6.3 earthquake near the border of the US and Canada this morning. I don't know if it would have been felt in Juneau.

USGS site says 3 big ones near Skagway: 6.3 and 6.2, and 5.2 - plus a bunch in 4.5 and lower range all on May 1st.

Guess what, Kathi? - raindrops on the lens. Just like old times. :D

And there have been so many beautiful days during the winter. I guess the raindrops are a sure sign it is cruise season!

You are right of course, since I don't have to type it in to access it, the traffic part had slipped my frame of reference.

I didn't know there was such an animal as a map showing all the ships everywhere in the world so when I went to marine.com and saw boating equipment I said "what the heck?" lol and then did a search and up the marine map came.
