Renting a Car for the Day on Martinique

Arriving in Martinique on Saturday, April 11 on the Pearl. We'll be the only ship in port that day.

Bumping...since this is something I was planning on doing as well. The Budget at the cruise terminal is now closed (I called Budget to confirm since I no longer saw it on their web site. One can rent after taking the ferry at a hotel...save you some time if going to the southern parts of the island...but not sure if I want to try to cram all of that in.

There are other rental companies in Fort-De-France...but I have not googled mapped them to see how close to the cruise port.

Would love to see if someone else has rented from a place other than Budget at the cruise terminal!

Looks like there are no "major" car rental agencies at the pier. Europcar has several motel locations in town - min price is $68. Hertz goes from the Pte de Bout ferry area for $91 minimum.

We are renting a car as well. My husband did the reservation. I will ask him tonight which company he used. I do know that we had to pay extra for the liability insurance because it is not covered by our own insurance or by our credit card (it normally is in other places but isn't on Martinique).

We are renting withave Enterprise.

Can anyone let me know how the car renting experience went? Heading there in November and considering this option.

We are docking in February and interested in renting a car. Any suggestions? I haven't seen any yet.
