Has Cunard changed its code of conduct?
Reading the NY Times article on a recent QM2 crossing, the writer reports:
- a waiter made overtures to a passenger (his wife)
- the Maitre d' accepted a tip to change the table

Historically, if I recall correctly, both of these behaviors would have been unacceptable, if not unthinkable. Have the rules changed?

Finally - why are clocks now changed at noon? It certainly seems to be less convenient to the passengers.

Thank you for your time,
Mark Katzenberger

I thought the article was well written - but a bit tongue in cheek. As for the clock change - we have been trialling a midday change in one direction from New York to Southampton - it is very tough for the ship's company as they los an hour's sleep each night. By changing to a midday change - it helps our crew - and it has led to our guests staying up later in the evenings and experiencing more of the entertaiment. It has been a welcome change. Remember that if you go Southampton to New York you get 5 x 25 hour days - now who else offers that sort of value for money on a holiday ? Peter

Peter,
We loved the change at midday on our last transatlantic, as you say better for the crew aswell.
cheers
