Default Norwegian Sun-Alaska with Airfare?

Hi, everyone. I haven't cruised in a couple of years (kids in college), but I am seriously considering Norwegian Sun in 2014 for Alaska to celebrare our 25th anniversary. It seems it would just be easier to book the airfare from Norwegian with it. Can anyone comment on Norwegian's service regarding booking the air with them, and/or this ship for Alaska? I have never cruised NCL before, but it seemed the most reasonable price for the itinerary I was looking for.

If money is no object and you are willing to perhaps not know your flight arrangements for a while, then book with NCL. Just do a search on a few sites first to get an idea of what flights run. Go in a day early, enjoy Seattle or wherever they depart from. Your hotel cost will be paid for in the price difference.

Hi Mary. We're JUST ABOUT to book Sun in Alaska for our 25th anniversary too! If you're on the 1st September sailing let me know, perhaps we can enjoy a bottle or two of something sparking!

Personally...I would book the airfare myself. NCL charges quite a bit more for booking it and, the one time I did book with NCL, none of us were sitting together! I like the freedom of booking the airline I want, the time/date I want and the seat I want.

We are sailing on the Sun on Sept 9, 2013. I originally planned on booking air through NCL, but it was more than twice as much as booking on my own.

We saved enough booking on our own to pay for two hotel nights (Seattle and Vancouver), our train fare from Seattle to Vancouver on Amtrak, and rental cars in Skagway and Anchorage.

Our cruise is in May and we bought our airfare in November.

Use this LINK:
http://www.bing.com/travel/?cid=g_brand_farecast

Fill in the blanks flying from to and the dates and plan on buying your
airline tickets at least 90 days before sailing. Better yet start checking
daily from about 6 months out - watch - wait - and be flexible on getting
to the cruise port and returning home.
Plan to arrive at the cruise port city a day ahead in case of bad weather
or airline problems.
The Alaska cruise are you planning a One-Way South or North bound
cruise or something round trip out of say Seattle or Vancouver?

Using the LINK a simple round trip just fill in the blanks - if you are going
one-way north or south then click on the MULTIPLE CITIES
i.e. Southbound cruise Anchorage to Vancouver
??? - the city you are departing from --- to ANC
ANC - airline code for Anchorage ---
Sailing ANC to YVR
YVR - the airline code for Vancouver
YVR - to the city you are returning to ???

Note airfares to and from Canada are not cheap !

Sometimes it is best to internet/website book directly with the airline to
avoid the strange fees they charge for phone reservations.
