The only real "dress code" for dinner in the Main Dining Rooms is "no swimwear or tank tops for dinner".

A:The dress code for dinner varies by the venue or theme night of your cruise. In general, most meals are "cruise casual"—no swimwear or tank tops. Most cruises also have special theme nights with optional opportunities to get dressed up for a special family photo. Here's a breakdown of events by cruise itinerary:

On 3-night cruises:

•One cruise casual night—No swimwear or tank tops

•One pirate or tropical night (deck party)

•One "optional dress-up night"—jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women

On 4-night cruises:

•One pirate or tropical night (deck party)

•One optional dress-up night—jacket for men, and dress or pantsuit for women

•Men: Dress pants and dress shirt (a jacket is optional)

•No jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes

Dress code at Remy:

•Men: Dress pants with jacket (sports or suit jacket) is required—ties are optional.

•Women: A dress, cocktail dress, pantsuit or skirt/blouse is required

•No jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes

We had dinner at Palo on the Fantasy. My husband wore dress pants and a button down shirt, no tie.

Oh, that reminds me of another question; does the dress code for Palo apply for the Brunch also? My wife and I are booked for a Palo brunch on Fantasy, and I didn't even think that there was a dress code...

There is only one written dress code for Palo (quoted above), but enforcement is more relaxed at brunch. It is still no jeans, shorts, pool type flip flops, but a dressy capri outfit would typically be allowed. Make a little effort to dress up and you'll be fine.

I usually wear a sportcoat and no tie for brunch at Palo. For dinner at Palo I usually wear a tie. In the main dining rooms khakis and a polo shirt.

We tend to be more casual at Palo brunch than dinner. Husband never wears a jacket to brunch, only to dinner. And even for dinner sometimes, he doesn't wear a jacket, just dress pants and a nice shirt. We women always wear dresses at night being more casual for brunch. Remember for brunch you are getting up and down to grab yummy items off the buffet so dress comfortable.

I never wear a tie on vacation :)
