Hey fellow cruisers!! My boyfriend and I are sailing to Barbados in Dec and this will be our first time visiting. We are wanting to find an excursion not booked through the cruise to avoid tourist traffic. Any must do's or must see's? We definitely want to hit the highlights so any advice is appreciated. Thank you!!

We've only been to Barbados once - enjoyed a day on the beach at The Boatyard. $5 per person cab ride (or a 15-20 minute walk), admission is $15 each includes chair rental/umbrella, one free drink, and a cab ride back to the port. Water toys, pier, beautiful clear water, good facilities, etc.

While my wife enjoyed her book and the sun I took a $20 tour (a vendor will be going up/down the beach) - boat ride out to a ship wreck for snorkeling (pretty good) plus another stop where you swim with the turtles (fabulous! :D), plus a glass of rum punch that is more rum than punch! ;)

Not sure what you want to do/see, but we had a wonderful day there.
