finding 5k's at port

Is there a simple way to figure out if there are any 5k's or other runs that will be happening while we are at various ports? I'd love to run one. We'll be sailing on RC Independence of the Seas Jan. 19 - Jan. 26, 2014. Thanks!

I've thought of that too and it sounds like a fun idea, unfortunately most races start in the early morning before you would have a chance to be off the ship. For instance, in the link in the above post, the St. Croix Marathon starts at 5:00 a.m. and the half marathon starts at 6:00 a.m. I did find a two mile "fun fun" on July 4th in Juneau when we were there, actually it was on Douglas Island and began at 2:00 p.m., but we had other plans for the day or I would have attempted to make it.

Ok, thanks - doesn't look like it is going to work out.

Doesn't help you for this trip but perhaps for your next one.

My wife and I did the predecessor of this cruise (Cruise to Run) three times and it was fantastic. Sadly, the original organiser passed away and Cruise to Run is no more. The cruise I linked to above is the spiritual successor, though.
