New Orleans flight

How early of a flight out of New Orleans is reasonable? 11:00am? Noon?

Noon is safer. When we sailed the Carnival Dream a few weeks ago, we were delayed in being cleared to get off. We had a 12:45 flight, so never felt nervous that we had a time problem.

Also, security at MSY that Sunday morning was a mess we were in the security line for 30-45 minutes. A later flight will ensure you have plenty of time.

I would be uncomfortable with a flight before noon. We have experienced very bad traffic around the cruise port, once taking us 20 minutes just to move a couple of blocks because of convention center traffic.

I would go with something noon or after but not before noon.

It would depend on the date. What else is going on in the city? Is there a Saints home game? The port is only a mile from the Superdome. Is there a festival? You can get in a taxi and be to the airport in less than 30 minutes on a quiet day.
