Just done our first cruise and it was on Costa. Chose Costa as up the price was right and itinerary good.

Are there other cruise lines that have reduced rates for children as most seem to pay adult prices and this makes it too expensive for us.

Those are not 'adult' prices. If the third person in the cabin is an adult, they will pay the reduced rate. MSC often have offers where children under 17 (sometimes 11) sail free in a cabin with two full fare others. EM

Some cruiselines offer a third/fourth passenger rate that isn't based on age (we've always been able to get that for my daughter on our Carnival and Princess cruises).

 

As far as children sail free...it seems these are usually offered when many kids are in school (when there's usually lower demand) or on lines we don't want to go on.
