Hi fellow cruisers,

We went on a beautiful cruise on the Serenade of the Seas, and visited these ports from San Juan: BVI, St. Maarten, St Kits, Barbados and Dominica. We loved it.

This time we would like to sail from Florida (don't care which port) and see more of the Eastern Caribbean. Any suggestions for sailings that have different Eastern Caribbean ports from Florida? On a beautiful ship with great food? It's just the two of us, no kids this time.

TIA!

We recently sailed on the RCI Jewel of the Seas to several great ports, some of which you've already visited. The ship was beautiful and the ports were great, especially St. Lucia. Here are the ports:

San Juan, PR (starting point), St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados.

The main eastern Carib ports are the Bahamas (Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Freeport), St Thomas, St Maarten, San Juan, PR, and Tortola with Grand Turk and the DR also in the mix. You hit the most popular except for St Thomas and if you took an eastern out of FL you'd probably want to hit St Thomas/St John. That is usually packaged with St Maarten, Nassau, and Tortola, but you can take other eastern/southern/exotic itineraries that include St Thomas and perhaps La Romana or Amber Cove in the DR, and either Aruba or Curacao to the south.

The cruises out of San Juan give you the ability to hit the beautiful southern Carib islands, a couple of which you did see, and these are our favorite, along with the western Carib. Do consider a western itinerary soon, Mexico, Belize, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman are gorgeous and will call you back! ;)

Would love to hear about your Serenade cruise as we're wondering if we should do the 10 day to those ports or the eleven day to Aruba Barbados caraco St. Lucia and St. John ???

We just got off the 10 day Serenade of the Seas cruise. We didn't get off the ship in Antigua due to poor weather and we had been there before. We enjoyed all the islands: St. Kitts, Tortola (we went to the Baths on our own), Dominica (our favorite), and St. Marteen. I can't remember where the 11 day cruise goes, but we love Barbados, St. Lucia (similar to Dominica), and the ABC islands, which I believe it hits. Let me know if you have any questions.

We went on an Eastern Caribbean out of Ft Lauderdale to on Holland America that went to Grand Turk, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and their private island in the Bahamas named Half Moon Cay. It was an awesome itinerary. Grand Turk is beautiful and has great diving and snorkeling.
