Default Can you swim in the ocean at Cocoa Beach in February?

I could not figure out how to post this question anywhere else, so hopefully someone will see this here and be able to answer it.

We are cruising in February and stopping for a day at Port Canaveral. I'm not sure that the water temperature is warm enough to swim in the ocean. Any thoughts? If it isn't warm enough, trying to figure ou the best options for the day.
Thanks!

It may be warm enough for a beach day but the ocean is usually pretty cold in February.

It will be very cold. Heck it is cold when I go in May but bearable. Maybe visit the Nasa stuff nearby.

The water will be too cold for me; when I was young and foolish and couldn't wait another minute to get in the ocean, I'd have done it, though.

When we took grandkids on a cruise, which included the first ever ocean they could remember, we had to practically force them out of the ocean in Ft. Lauderdale, and the air temp was only about 65. I doubt the water was much warmer!

Having grown up on the Gulf side of Florida, the water in Cocoa Beach is NEVER warm enough to swim in. I don't know how people do it!

We have people who jump into the water up here in Alaska in winter although I wouldn't call what they do swimming....

Lol don't come up to the beaches in NH and Maine. Now that water is cold even in the middle of the summer. But we still spend hours in it (we may turn a little blue and numb though).

To OP: It probably depends where you are from and what you are used to. We plan to go in December the day before our cruise. My son is even signed up for surfing lessons.

I'm sure I couldn't handle it! I could barely put my toes in the Pacific in the middle of summer in San Francisco.

Ahh...the Polar Bear Swims?!?!? We have idiots that do that in Milwaukee on New Years Day in Lake Michigan - sometimes in subzero weather.

It will likely be too cold to swim.

The waters will be cold.

But you can still walk around the beach -- get a sun tan - enjoy drinks on the beach.

If you don't go to the beach you can go to Cape Canaveral. We watched the shuttle take off from Cocoa. No more shuttle but they do still have tours there.
If you're used to swimming at the Jersey shore where water temps are low 70's in the summer the water temp may be OK. I have seen people swimming in March in NC with out wet suits. We decided they were from Canada or Maine!

Thanks, everyone! I was pretty sure that the water would be too cool but was hoping someone would tell me otherwise
We've been to the NASA sites, though it has been a couple of years. I had thought about going to Universal, but the cost for a one day ticket is nearly as much as a multiple day ticket, so now I'm thinking we should plan on that as a trip on it's own at some point. (Plus our ship doesn't dock until 1pm)
If we just walk around the beach, do you think Cocoa Beach or Jetty Park? Part of me wants to go to Cocoa Beach just to keep the chocolate theme of our life (live in Hershey, PA; husband works for the Hershey Co).
Part of me want to do something more like an airboat ride, etc. The cruise line excursions just cost so much!
Thanks again!
