Default Diamond shopping

My husband is looking forward to shopping for a diamond ring in St.Thomas - do you need to book a downtown shopping excursion to find the best shopping outlets or are there many shops right at the port?

TIA

Thanks, I just see all the Carnival downtown shopping excursions available and just wanted to be sure we weren't missing out on a major shopping area by staying near the ship.

Cheers

Agred, but there are shops on the quay where you will dock. Be prepared to play hardball barter. Compare prices prior to leaving -

If you want ideas of prices here are some sites are interactive where you can change the size/quality of stones/s (etc) and obtain a price indcation.
Check the 4c's and prices prior to taking a step into the unknown.
There are sharks in the Caribbean on land
