Can 14 yr olds workout in gym?

My DS will be with us on the Emerald next spring. He wanted to use the gym on our past RCCL cruise on the Freedom but they didn't allow people under 18 Will he be able to use the gym by himself? If not by himself, maybe with an adult?

When my sons were 14 & 16 yrs old on a Princess ( medit.) cruise they were not allowed to use the gym at all.

I remember hearing something about 16 and up ok. Found it...

"Guests must be 18 years or older to indulge in any body treatments and at least 16 years of age to utilize the fitness facilities"

I am pretty sure that he will be able to use the jogging track without any problems. More fun than running in place on a treadmill anyway. IMHO.

We were on Caribbean Princess in April and my 14 year old son came to the gym with me and used the all of the equipment except free weights. My 10 year old daughter who doesn't like walking at home also enjoyed the treadmills at a brisk walking pace, and even had a go on the cross trainer.

You shouldn't have any problem as long as you go a long as well to supervise...

My son's (14 and 16 at the time) were denied. I found it amazing that I was there with them, not to work out!, they are high level athlete's, do this daily at home, and could not be there. Jumbo, flopping around killing himself with weights and not able to use equipment properly was welcomed with open arms! Okay, that's my rant..........

P.S. we went to the buffet instead. They also eat like horses which is why we cruise lately. Costs more to feed them at home!:)
