Where to buy wine in Waikiki beach to bring on ship

We would like to have a couple bottles of wine in our room (we have a balcony) to drink in the room. Can anyone suggest some where to buy wine at a reasonable price. I am aware that nothing is really reasonable in Hawaii, just looking for some suggestions. Thanks.

Costco? Walmart? Both close to the port.

Does your cruise line allow it?

There are ABC stores all along and surrounding and in Waikiki.

You can't miss them and some of them carry a good selection of wines.

Do you want good or "reasonable cost"? Tamura's Fine Wine has the best selection and some of the best poke on Oahu.

Other than that try Safeway or Foodland Farms (Ala Moana Mall).

Pretty sure that you can't take wine (or even water) on any NCL ship. You need to check what sort of beverages (if any) you can take onboard.

ABC would work for purchase if you can take anything onboard.

The following comes from a Norwegian FAQ website. We believe the corkage mentioned is $15.00 per bottle:

Can I bring water or soda on board?

"Effective for sailings July 15, 2016 and beyond, guests are prohibited from bringing any beverages -- including liquor, beer and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, soda and juices -- on board either as carry-on or checked luggage, with the exception of purified or distilled water in factory-sealed containers for use in conjunction with medical devices or for the reconstitution of infant formula; and fully sealed and/or corked wine bottles for personal consumption onboard that is subject to screening and a corkage fee (for guests 21 years of age or older). Open beverages of any kind must be consumed or discarded at the security check-point, on embarkation day and at any port of call. This revised policy brings the company in line with other best practice travel security protocols and reduces the need for individual time consuming screening and package inspection of large volumes of beverages."

you can take wine and the last time it was a $15 corkage fee....not sure what it is now. They charge corkage upon entering ship. Other ships only charge corkage if you take your bottle to dining room which we do not intend to do. We always like to have a glass on balcony before going to dinner.

Those other cruiselines which do not charge corkage usually limit you to 1 or 2 bottles of wine, and as you noted, they must be used in the cabin only in order to avoid the fee.

NCL has no limits on the number of bottles you can bring on board, and you may also bring it to any dining room where they will store it and deliver it to you at any dining venue during the week. The corkage is still $15 per bottle. A pretty good deal for wine lovers considering the menu charge for a bottle of cheap Beringer White Zin, which goes for about $6 per bottle at the grocery store, is about $30 on wine menu.

Yes, we have been to that winery, in the beautiful upcountry area after our visit to Mt Haleakala. Give the Pineapple Champagne a try. We enjoyed some of our purchases on the ship, and brought a couple bottles home.

You can bring wine on at any port, subject to the same corkage fee, if you intend to drink it on the ship. If you want to instead take it home, let them know when you re board and they will hold it for you until the last night of the cruise. I believe the winery has bubble type sleeves if you want to chance checking it in a bag, or will pack it for checking at the airport.

We brought 6 bottles of wine upon embarkation @ $15 a bottle.

Must bring in carry on as they scan the luggage for booze and contraband.
