Food recommendation for either St. John or St. Thomas

We will be in port from 8-5. We plan to ferry over to St. John and spend several hours at a beach (undecided which one yet). When cruising we try to eat at least one meal in port. I would like a recommendation for local eats. Something we could possibly take a taxi to on our return from the beach or anything at the ferry docks. The restaurant could be either in STJ or STT. Thanks.

In Red Hook around the ferry area there are a number of spots.

Tap and still is a great dive bar and if you're in the mood for a good burger and fries, theirs are really good. For a little more, "formal" experience Pesce near the ferry dock is excellent.

On St John, in Cruz Bay like De Coal Pot, there's the Longboard with excellent fish tacos and ceviche. Usually a wait though..
