Look at the deck plans. You want to have cabins above and below your cabin if you are looking for a quiet cabin. Otherwise, if it is a shop or a specialty restaurant, it is likely to be quiet at night after dinner is over. What you probably don't want is to have a cabin above the disco or below the pool deck or sports court as these can be noisy. Other than that, there is not a lot of difference between balcony cabins of the same category and generally one is as good as another. There is usually more vibration towards the back of the ship, less movement in the middle and a bit more movement towards the front. My personal preference is front or middle of ship. Others here love cabins on the back because they often have larger balconies.

 

The one piece of advice I'd like to give you is to consider a spa cabin because the Spa on Epic is FANTASTIC. Other than that, almost any cabin should be quite good.
