Barracka Lift

Recommended Posts

By not far, are you talking 1/8, 1/4 1/2 or a mile?
It depends which berth your ship gets. If you look on Google Maps satellite view, the current aerial photo shows a cruise ship docked at the "Valletta Waterfront". If that's where you end up, that's about 700 meters or just less than half a mile from the Barakka Lift. But cruise ships can also dock where the bus stops say "Kurcifiss", which is almost right next to the elevator, probably less than 5 minutes walk from the gangway of your ship, if that's where it docks.

There are 3 other ships in port when we are so I have no idea where Azamara docks. I'm not sure if there is a way to find out.

The walk is super short from outside the port; that's not the issue. It's the ridiculously long walk from the ship to get out of the port that can be wearing. It depends on which berth your ship gets. We had the further one, which is almost across the street from the lift. Unfortunately, you have to walk all the way to the opposite end of the port and around and back to get to the lift. If you're mobile, you'll be fine, though.
