Just off the Dream this morning and booked ATD because was just me & DW...First Elegant night went down about 630 and lines out both sides to the elevators..Maitre D saw DW's Diamond card and seated us quickly..very slow service, I think because each table is at a different stage of dining..Next night got pager and waited 20 minutes, again service slow..Next Elegant night lines past elevators, ate at buffett...Last night was in line at 5:45, got table, ordered and got soup in about 15 minutes, entre about 30 minutes later and then ordered deserts--waited almost 20 minutes before getting up and walking out...I can see why all the complaints about ATD on the Dream...Dennis

Ok have to ask. Did I read your signature correct? Are you doing 5 stright weeks on the Legend? You must really love her.

That would be interesting! Same ship for that many sailings and the same itinerary. I would love for OP to post a review of that odyssey. Not saying there is anything wrong with that. Im lucky enough to get away for a 7 day cruise every two or three years. Legend is a ship I would like to sail though, and I love the Tampa area.

Sorry to hear the ATD, or YTD didn't work out for you. We switched last cruise from late to YTD because others in our party had kids that couldn't stay awake for late dinning and early dinning wasn't available. YTD had some problems but was a life saver for us.

We've done YTD or ATD on the Conquest and also on the Miracle, had outstanding service and very little wait both times. We did have to wait like 10 minutes once, that's it. We tend to go to dinner between 7 and 730, always had good luck. I've heard not such good reviews about it on the Dream though :-(

Sorry your experience wasn't good, maybe you should try it once on your next cruise, on your B2B2B2B????? Maybe you'll change your mind!!!

Hello ... We're on one of your upcoming Legend cruises! We will be on the British Isles segment. :)

There's a great roll call going if you're interested in joining in.

As for ATD, we tried it once on HAL, but prefer the traditional early dining.

Yes , we booked the first two 12 day cruises with friends that we constantly cruise with ..The liked the next 12 day into Barcelona and so we booked that one...36 days wasn't that long we thought, and then they changed the Barcelona one to a Nothern Trans-Atlantic so we changed to that and it was 15 days...Now we are up to 39 days and then we decided we didn't want to get off in NYC so we booked the 11 day that goes t Tampa...We are driving to Orlando, leaving car at sister's house, renting a car into Miami, flying to London 4 days early..Get to Tampa rent another car back to Orlando...So now we have 50 days (just 7 weeks on the Legend) and we love Spirit class ships...We are doing our "Bucket List" cruises, just back from the Spirit 17 day Hawaii/ Australia and a 13 day on Dawn Princess around New Zealand...Dennis...:)

Yea we have had hit and miss on a few cruises with ATD or the Dining room. It happens but still doesn't stop us at all. The many good ones outweigh the couple of bad ones.

We really like early dining with the same waiters but booked ATD because it was just us and we were on a Casino cruise..I think the problems we had were the different stages of the diners around us...Some serving desert and some just getting there appitizers...I've done 27 Carnival cruises and have never done ATD on Carnival but have a few times on NCL and think they dealt with it better than Carnival...But I'll not cruise any more with NCL as I dislike their food and waitstaff is not as good as Carnival...WE did have a great time with everything else on our cruise as we always do on Carnival..Heard several bad things about the Breeze but are boarding it next saturday for the Bloggers cruise and our annual cruise with our Texas Friends(We are from Tennessee sailing with 12 people from Texas)/...:)...Dennis

We were ATD on the Breeze in October and just loved it. A few nites there was a line, but never more than 5 minute wait (never given a pager)....we thought it worked out perfectly and are doing ATD dining again on the Glory in a few weeks. I hope your time on the Breeze goes as flawlessly for you as it did for us. Happy sailing!

i tried'it three times, three shios and i am not a fan.

last'cruise was the legend and we requested early.

i am paltinum and booked very early so i feel i should have received it.

but out party of 8 got anytime.

the head guy told us to get in line before 5:45 to get a larger table.

that line was super long...but we were there and did manage to get seated. one night we were 5 minutes late and we had to be seated in two booths was not a fun evening.

this time i kept checking my booking to make sure my confirmed early dinner did not change...coz iWILL pitch a fit.

i prefer the personalized servic e we get eith traditional dining

i didn't care for ATD either. I found it slow but our server would still wait for the table on either side of us to be seated before they would help us....then it was like sitting at a larger table, making us still wait for other people. what's the point of sitting alone?

we only did ATD because that was all that was available when we booked about 5 weeks out on our last cruise.

I'll stick to assigned dining times for us.

I find that ironic. When ATD first came out, the waiting list was always for ATD. I guess it's not as popular as it was when it first became available.

I will only do YTD. I love the flexibility. Rarely wait unless Im waiting for specific server. Sometimes we have to get a pager. you get that at any decent place on land too. Gives up a chance for our own happy hour. I think CCL would do good to keep it the way it is. Both options. Or take reservations.
