OBC for shareholders

Carnival who is owner of Costa is granting OBC (for example 40-200 EUR/cabin depending on the lenght of the cruise for cruises in North America) to its shareholders for having min. 100 shares of the company. More details you will find in enclosed leaflet of Carnival.

Had anybody possibility to check how Carnival policy is working "in real" with Costa (I see that Costa is included)?

If so, does it work for all or only for selected cruises ?

Is any limit for this benefit (f.e. once per 2 years/year or sth like this) ?

Thank you for any advice.

You get it for every cruise booking you make within the Carnival corporation.

We were on a back to back cruise with Costa last November/December and made sure we had them on 2 separate bookings so we could claim 2 lots of shareholders discount. Had we booked the back to back as one cruise we would only have had been entitled to one amount.

I think we had 4 claims to the Savona office last year and 1 P&O claim.

We have certainly had a lot of cash back from our 100 shares.

We've used it so many times I think it has paid for the 100 shares!

For one cruise you are 100% right.

It has sense only as longterm investment if you are cruising often and have possibility to use this benefit more than once. It could be also interesting for sb who cruise with different Carnival cruise lines - not only Costa but also HAL, Princess, Aida...

Being one of those who cruise regularly, I've made back the cost of the shares, $500 this year alone, and I bought the shares at $40.

After paying Hotel Service Charge in cash (note that OBC is not valid for HSC), my onboard spending usually does not exceed my OBC unless I indulge my weakness for cappuchino.
