Default Beach in La Romana?

We have a party of 9 going to La Romana aboard the January 5th sailing of the Carnival Breeze. Will be there from 9-4. Looking for a beach day. Any suggestions? Strongly considering Dreams at $60 a person. We want the beach, chairs, shade, restrooms, and food/drink. Would also like some activities and/or water sports.

I am leaving 1/9 on the NCL Gem. These are my intentions as well.
I have heard the biggest problem is getting enough people to fill up a cab.
Being that you have a large group, I don't think it will be a problem for you.
I have heard the resort is beautiful and well worth the $60.00 per person.
Have a great time,

Dreams is your best bet. I believe that at the port they are offering a shuttle package (not sure of the cost) to the private beach of Playa Minitas inside Casa de Campo complex (who also owns the port).

IMO Dreams beach is much nicer - you feel like you are really in the Dominican Republic as you have extensive views of the whole bay, swathes of palm trees and the little marina and village to the left. Whereas at Playa Minitas, which is still pretty, it feels like you could be in Florida ie. a tad sterile with nothing much to see around you.

At Dreams you should have the use of free kayaks, water trampoline, snorkel gear, windsurf board and hobbie cats. They may require a deposit on the snorkel gear. There is usually banana boat rides on offer (extra cost). Good safe snorkeling can be found to the right of the wooden jetty.

The only drawback is that in high season (Jan 5th) it might be hard to find a beach chair.

Have fun!

Does someone have a link to Dreams or is this through Carnival?

We are thinking of taking a Breeze cruise in Jan 2014, and I'm starting my research..

Interested in doing Dreams as well. Would love to get contact info for a day pass, etc. I am going to search the forums. I'll be on the 1/5 sailing of the Breeze too!
